Terms and Conditions

All Business is undertaken in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, a copy is available upon request.

All headings are indicative and do not form part of these conditions.

Alban Shipping Terms and Conditions

Charges are due in accordance with agreed payment terms. Duty/VAT/taxes are payable immediately. The company reserves the right to hold Bills of Lading or transit documents if payment is not received within the agreed terms.

Liability

All Business is undertaken in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, a copy is available upon request.

Insurance

Unless stated above, our quotation does not include cargo insurance. Insurance will only be effected upon receipt of written instructions with individual value of goods.

Cover excludes loss or damage to woodwork if it is affected by woodworm and if any damage is caused as a result of the item being affected by woodworm.

Cover excludes loss or damage to all picture frames and also the glass contained within, where the pictures were bought at auction, unless specifically requested in writing.

If the consignment is received damaged in any way it must be reported in writing within 7 days of receipt to Alban Shipping and all packaging materials retained.

We strongly recommend that you read our Alban Shipping Terms and Conditions as follows, highlighting our insurance restrictions and exclusions, before accepting our quotation.

Please take particular note of the following exclusions:

Loss or damage caused by gradual deterioration, wear and tear, atmospheric or climatic conditions (see optional coverage), vermin, moth damage and consequential loss and loss of data.

Inherent vice, as in a deterioration of already existing damage to the item including but not limited to: cracks, loose wood carvings, flaking paint surfaces and further deterioration to the condition of pre-existing areas of repair on the item.

Electrical, electronic, mechanical derangement and internal damage of electrical items, such as clocks, music boxes and similar items, unless there is evidence of external damage to the insured item or its packing (see optional coverage).

Exclusions

Unless specified our quotations exclude duties, taxes, MPF, bond fee, storage fees, overtime or awaiting for shipment, hoisting, long distance or staircase carrying, heavy lifting, double journey, installation, unpacking, disposal of debris or any other services, unless specified in your quotation.
